Leagues Ahead Diving only conducts dives in small and personal groups, and all of our dives are based on experience and comfort level. We make sure that your first dive is a relaxed, happy, and memorable one!
The price includes complimentary hotel transfers, full rental equipment, a PADI-qualified instructor guide, and insurance. There are no hidden fees!
Use of SCUBA equipment

- Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness

A great experience. Experienced instructors who explained everything clearly and answered all of my sons questions. Communicated clearly before the trip and collected us from the hotel on time. Saw lots of wildlife.

Don't bother looking anywhere else! Leagues Ahead Diving is where you want to go to if you are looking for diving in Gran Canaria!
I approached Leagues Ahead Diving about going scuba diving in Gran Canria with my wife. I am PADI qualified, but she had only been one time before and had a terrible time.
When I spoke to Sophie at Leagues Ahead about my wife's prior poor experience diving, I knew we were going to the right place. She made me confident that they would show my wife how fun and safe scuba diving can be (which was the exact opposite of her prior experience!), and help her to relax and get better at diving.
We went out with one other beginner and 2 instructors. So we had 1 instructor per beginner, and myself tagging along as a qualified diver. You don't get private attention like that in other places, and it really shows you that Sophie and James care about wanting their clients to have a good time.
My wife had a great time on that dive, and instantly saw how great scuba diving can be if you go with a good company. Thanks to James for that - he is a great instructor!
So we instantly booked another dive a couple of days later. Sophie managed to squeeze us in for another private dive, because she knew it meant a lot that my wife actually really enjoyed the experience this time around.
We went out the second time, again, 1-on-1 plus me, and had a great time that time, too. This time we had Paulo diving with us, and he was also a really great instructor, and clearly loves what he does!
All-in-all, my wife now loves scuba diving and wants to get qualified herself. I don't think you can get a better result than that - going from nervous of scuba diving and never wanting to do it again after a terrible (and very dangerous) first experience, to wanting to get qualified as a diver.
Without Sophie's original calming attitude, James' great initial instruction and leading, and Paulo's enthusiasm for marine life and making sure we could see as much as possible, I don't think my wife would have ever wanted to try scuba diving again!
So Thanks Sophie, James, Paulo, and the rest of the Leagues Ahead Diving team!

Great experience! Excellent communication and information provided when looking to book in advance of coming on holiday. Instructors were great at took everything slow and relaxed making sure we were comfortable in the water at all times. 100% recommend.

This was a great experience from start to finish. Sophie’s response to my initial email was prompt, professional and very informative. The commutation was excellent which set the scene for everything else.
My daughter and I were picked up from our hotel reception by their courtesy transport which arrived in good time and dropped us off at the shop. We then completed the paperwork, tried on our wetsuits and shoes, and made payment. It was all very efficient.
We were then transported to the dive site and received a briefing to explain the equipment and what actions we would be asked to carry out in the water. Again, this was very efficient and the staff were all super friendly and they all exuded confidence.
The actual dive was fantastic, we saw plenty of marine life and spent a good amount of time underwater. We felt totally safe throughout. Well done Leagues Ahead.

The team at Leagues Ahead Diving were brilliant, Sophie was really helpful with updates on the run up to the visit and provided me with all the information I needed.
I went on the first dive experience and was picked up from my hotel by Kyle and Paulo who were both very welcoming and informative.
Before the dive Paulo ran through all of the equipment and some safety procedures that we would be performing when in the water to get used to the equipment, the instructions and information was very clear and they made sure we all understood what was going to happen.
Kyle sorted out all of our equipment and was very helpful in assisting us put on our wet suits and tanks. During the dive we went through the manoeuvres of clearing the masks, expelling water from the regulator and achieving buoyancy before moving on to deeper water.
Throughout the dive both Paulo and Kyle made sure we were comfortable and happy and provided great support and guidance (even underwater)
We were able to see many different varieties of sea life and it was a truly beautiful experience.
Paulo was a fantastic teacher and made the experience all the more enjoyable.
It was a great way to spend a morning and the whole team were awesome!!!! Thank you so much for a great time!!!
